You guyyyys! We will tell you straight; it was a real challenge to develop a new system for 15 teams the last week before the tournament. We tried so many options, you can't even imagine  🤯 Finally, we have settled on an alternative. It is not perfect, but perfection is overrated anyways  😉 But seriously, we are thankful to you for your patience, and we hope you will continue to show grace during the tournament. Situation due to covid-19

Currently, some of the great tournament has been cancelled already, we all know that. And it's sad. We are monitoring the situation as well and hoping that before the second part of the summer (that's when SUN BEAM is planned to be) situation will be under control and we will be able to enjoy ourselves.

Due to the facing issues we postponed payment* dates:

1. To secure your spot you should pay for at least 8 players (45€ per player) before the 1st of May.

2. If you will not secure your spot before the 1st of May, we will ask you to pay the late bid – 50€ per player before the 15th of May or you will lose the spot for your team. 

3. After securing a spot by paying for only 8 players, we will ask you to pay the fees for all the remaining players before the 15th of June, but the late bid will apply (50€). If you will fail to pay the remaining fees on-time – players will have to pay the last call bid (55€) before the 1st of July. 

4. If after 1st of July there are players on your team that haven't paid yet but would like to play with your team – please contact us by e-mail to discuss this possibility personally.

* - Worst case scenario: we will be refunding your paid player fees.
But, let's plan for the best outcome, right?

This year we are keeping only MIXED division and the tournament again will last for 3 full days as it felt good to spend some more time on the beach the last year, didn't it? Three days of the softest sand, competitive Ultimate, parties and the best mood with your ultimate buddies from all over Europe and beyond. 

What do You need to know? 

The main things you probably want to know are:

• 31 July - 2 August 2020. 
  

WHERE?

• Smiltynė beach (UNESCO site), Klaipėda city, Lithuania. Closest airport - Palanga (PLQ). Other possible landing options - Kaunas (KUN), Vilnius (VNO), Riga (RIX).

WHAT DIVISIONS?

SUN??

• BEAM is an amazing place, believe us, you want to be there even when there's no sun. But of course, we are negotiating for some warm sunshine as well and we promise to do everything we can :)

Fees and Deadlines

Early & late bids have different prices. Register your team, gather funds & pay before the deadline -  save money - book & pay early! 
Player Fee: early bid 45€, late bid – 50€, last call – 55€. 

NO TEAM FEE

On the 7th of March, we will invite 24 teams to participate in SUN BEAM 2020. The invited teams will be able to secure their spots by paying at least 8 player fees (45€) before the 1st of April.  

If you will not secure your spot before the 1st of April, we will ask you to pay the late bid – 50€ per player before the 15th of April or you will lose the spot for your team.

Tough of the toughest

After series of games we were brought to these facts:

"Venstpils Frisbee Club" was undisputed throughout 2019 tournament!!! True Champions!!! They will get 10 pairs of Friction Gloves from our friends.

Very near of becoming champs ended up "Frequent Flyers", they finished at second placement step!!

"Witches & Muggles" won bronze medals over "Ultimate Saku" throughout universe point match!

Gold and Bronze final match MVPs were: 
Tera Helen - from "Frequent Flyers", and Ihor Aspidov - from "Witches & Muggles".
We are not saying other were not tough (oh, hell no! There were extremely incredible athletes over here, but just mentioned above rocked in their final games!

Spirit Of The Game trophy with team watermelon price went to - "Frequent Flyers"!!! Yeeey!!! 12,50 avg. SOTG pts. - that's a wow!!! This team earned all our respect and next year 10 players will be playing FREE of charge.

Tournament schedule is ready!

Folks, this is what most of us anticipated to see - the initial pools & schedule:

All teams play 8 games in total

Friday: all teams are divided into 4 groups (A, B, C and D) of five teams, accordingly to their seeding. Teams play robin-round games in the initial groups.

Saturday: after the pool play on Friday, new pools are being formed. TOP 3 teams from each group are advancing to the power pools, whereas #4 and #5 from the group games will form two lower pools.

Power pools: TOP 3 teams from each group will form 4 new power pools (E, F, G and H) of 3 teams each. Then robin-round games will be played. #1 team from each power pool will advance to the semi-finals. #2 from each power pool will advance to semis for 5-8 place, #3 - to semis for 9-12. 

Lower pools: #4 and #5 teams from each initial group will form two lower pools (J and K) of four teams. Robin-roud is being played, games carry over (i.e. teams that have played in the initial groups don't meet again, group's game result stands). After the robin-round teams #1 and #2 from the lower pools advance to semis for 13-16 places. Teams #3 and #4 from the lower pools meet in the semis for 17th place. 

Sunday: The finals. All teams play one final game to determine their final standing.

Who wants to party?

We know there was a lack of public communication from our side lately, we respond to PM's only. And all of you deserve an explanation about the circumstances of that as they may affect you as well. The government was trying to shut us down completely because we were about to leak sensitive information. But this time they can't stop us. WHAT YOU HAVE TO KNOW is that on 20'th JULY Europe citizens lives are going to be AT STAKE! There is a 90% risk of a major nuclear leak during an inevitable nuclear operation, a disaster much greater than Chernobyl may occur  There is no safer place to hide than the underground.

But who wants to stay still when they know that the worst may happen. Let's not waist time and chill on the beach while we still can. Friday beach party will take place next to the fields, in the central Smiltynė beach. The music starts right after the last games  (more info in picture's descriptions).

RADIOACTIVE P A R T Y : the nuclear disaster | Saturday @22:00

Saturday party will take place in the safest place miles around - the bar BUNKER. Seems that the nuclear disaster is almost inevitable. So let's dance our hearts out 🕺 cause who knows what the hell is going to happen next  (more info in picture's descriptions).
